Email: esmarie@thepotatofoundation.co.za

I am Esmarie Robbertse, the managing director of the organisation. I am an attorney who specializes in children's rights and family law. I studied at the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education at which institution I received my B Proc degree. It was also where I was first introduced to community service by being a member of the executive committee of the Student Rag Community Service.

I furthered my studies at the Vrije University of Amsterdam (Netherlands) in completing an advanced diploma in International Child Law, presented by professor Jaap Doek, the previous chairman of the United Nations Committee on Children's Rights. I completed my masters degree in children's right at the University of Pretoria in June 2005.

My passion in life are children and I am an advocate for the promotion of children's rights in our society. If we neglect our children, we may as well neglect our future.

“Don’t wait for the world to change, change it yourself.” (anonymous)

To change the world has always been a dream of mine and that is why my dream will be realized at The Potato Foundation. I am Eugenie van den Heever and I assure you that community service is my passion.

I completed my B.Com Accounting Science studies at Potchefstroom University (today known as North West University) in 2003. I followed up this degree with a degree in formal education. During this period of study I learned how to give a part of myself to welfare by being part of the Students Rag Community Service. This lasted for 5 years. In my final year as a student I was elected to the student council as chairperson for the Student’s Rag Community Service committee. During this time I was given the opportunity to gain valuable experience in management, problem solving, communication and project initiation.

Currently I'm an accountant where I will use my experience gained to manage the funds of The Potato Foundation as Financial Director. This will be done in such a way to reach this institution’s goals.

Welfare has always been a lifelong passion and I plan to achieve this by doing the following: “The greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” (anonymous)

Position in Firm: Project Manager: Potato Kidz

Mark 10:13-15

“People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

I am Deo-Dane du Plessis.I am a fun, passionate and creative girl who wants to serve God with all my heart. I studied Bed(intermediate faze) at the University of Pretoria. As a student at Tukkies I was involved in a variety of organisations and committees of which Tuks Missions, Intentional Living and Mia2012 was part of it. I was also involved in the planning of different projects and outreaches (such as Macedonia outreaches, Swazi1000, Tuks Missions Week and Livit) that changed my life and gave me the courage to follow my heart. My journey the last few years with God has always led me to have open arms for people in need of love and support. I am a passionate follower of Christ and have a heart for missions. God prepared me not just for teaching children (through my studies) but also to be obedient in His will. I am just an instrument in God’s hands, believing that only He can change the world and circumstances of people and children.

My motto in life is: “if God is for us, who can be against us?” And with that motto I am motivated to do the will of God and be a servant for His Kingdom.
